Applying for a SBYPA Polo Scholarship
The scholarship award process consists of a few simple steps for easy qualification. Interested high school and college students will complete an application package and submit them to the SBYPA by Saturday NOVEMBER 13, 2010.
TO RECEIVE AN APPLICATION PACKAGE, please send a request to sbyouthpolo@gmail.com and put "application request" in the subject. Please specify whether you are a college or high school student.
Designated drop off box for completed applications and payment is located at the Santa Barbara Polo School.
The sooner you get the application into the SBYPA, the sooner a decision can be made.
Within the SBYPA, the scholarship review committee will review the applications and make recommendations to the board for scholarship awards. The SBYPA board will announce their final decision no later than November 30, 2010. You will be notified of the scholarship decision via email. PLEASE PRINT CLEARLY on all forms so we can contact you.
Each student who participates in the polo program will be responsible for the tuition balance due to the Santa Barbara Polo School whether or not they qualify for the scholarship funds. The SBYPA board is solely responsible for the decision of whether to offer financial assistance to each applicant using the information they have been given by the student.
The SBYPA scholarship program is not designed to develop polo training programs, but rather to provide financial assistance to students participating in existing programs. The SBYPA does not determine the full cost of any polo program, nor is it responsible for any remaining costs that the scholarship does not cover.
